To write a useful AI-assisted X reply, choose one point from the post before generating text. Give the draft enough context to address that point, then remove generic praise and any claim you can't support. Read the inserted reply before you send it.
A short post can leave a lot unsaid. The founder might be asking how to find customers, describing a setback or celebrating a sale. Those need different replies. Starting with a mood alone can miss the reason they posted.
Decide what you're replying to
Consider an illustrative post: "I finally got my first signup after a month of building. Still not sure if people will use it."
The uncertainty is about use after signup. A reply about how persistence always pays off doesn't answer that concern. A question about the person's first attempt with the product does.
The examples in this guide are illustrative teaching scenarios. They aren't customer feedback, live generated drafts or evidence that a particular reply increased reach.
Give the draft a narrow job
An instruction for this example could be: "Ask what the first signup tried to do in the product. Keep it friendly and short. Don't assume they've become a regular user."
That instruction specifies what the reply should contribute. It also rules out a claim the post hasn't supported. You can provide a relevant detail from your work when you have one; don't ask the model to invent an experience to fill a gap.
With Voxily, your selected persona supplies saved writing context, while the visible post helps the draft address the conversation. Read enough of the thread yourself to notice details that may be missing from the draft.
Remove praise that could fit any post
Illustrative first draft: "That's amazing! Your dedication and perseverance are paying off. Keep building and engaging with your community, and success will follow."
Edited reply: "What did that first signup try to do? I'd ask where they got stuck before deciding which feature to build next."
The edit answers the uncertainty with a next question. It drops the promise of success, which nobody can infer from a signup. You can congratulate someone too; use words you'd say to them and leave room for the point you're adding.
Check what the draft claims about you
An AI draft might say you've faced the same problem or helped dozens of founders. Remove that sentence unless it is true. A saved persona can tell the model your role, but it can't establish everything you've experienced.
For an illustrative post about cutting product features, a draft might say: "I've done this with my own customers and it always works."
If you don't have that experience, a grounded alternative is: "I'd check which task people still can't finish after the cut. Fewer features help only if the remaining workflow gets them through it."
This is a suggestion. It doesn't borrow credibility from an invented customer story.
Keep the reply small enough to answer
A draft can try to discuss onboarding, pricing, retention and distribution in one reply. Pick the point you understand best. If the author answers, you can discuss the next part then.
Read the reply aloud. Delete a sentence that repeats the post without adding anything. Keep a necessary qualification, such as the kind of product you're discussing, even if it makes the reply a little longer. Brevity helps when it preserves the meaning.
Insert, then read it in the conversation
Voxily is a Chrome extension for drafting replies on X, LinkedIn and Reddit. Open the composer on a conversation you want to join, use the Voxily button and review the draft. Insert your chosen reply, then check the text in the platform's input box. You decide whether to send it.
Free includes 10 reply generations per day, one persona and eight standard moods. Three reply variations when enabled, Custom Mood, Brand Mode and DM drafting require Pro. You can try the core reply workflow on Free without buying a subscription.
If you already know exactly what you want to say, write it directly. If a thread needs a long explanation or sources you haven't checked, do that work before publishing a reply. A fluent draft can still miss the point.
Questions about AI-assisted X replies
Does every reply need to be witty?
No. A direct answer can suit a question about customer interviews better than a joke. Match the conversation and use humor when it fits your own voice.
Should you post every draft?
No. Discard a draft that adds nothing or describes an experience you haven't had. You can also choose to read without replying.
Does using AI guarantee more followers?
No. Voxily supplies drafts, not a promised audience. Track whether people answer, whether you learn something and whether you want to continue the conversation.
Before sending your next reply, point to the line in the original post it responds to. If the connection is hard to explain, revise the draft.
